Pressure keeps dropping
Falling pressure normally means a leak somewhere on the system, and topping it up weekly just hides it. I find where the water is going instead of treating the symptom.
Locking out or cutting out
A boiler that fires then stops, or throws a fault code and locks out. The code narrows it down but is not the whole answer, so I check the system around the boiler too.
Noises and leaks
Banging and kettling usually point at circulation or sludge rather than the boiler itself. A leaking boiler needs looking at quickly, because water and electrics do not mix.
